On Tuesday December 17th, Katharina Baschinger, Theresa Lehner and Alexander Maurer define their joint project, Diatonische Expeditionen, as unusual in every sense - in instrumentation, in sound, as well as in musical orientation, which is determined by an immense openness to the most diverse stylistic currents. The trio
illuminates the tonal facets of the Styrian harmonica in its music. Diatonische Expeditionen takes the instrument out of its traditional folk music context and leads it, in an experimental way, into new musical environments -to an Astor Piazzolla, to a George Gershwin, but also to Elvis Presley and Nina Simone. A multi-layered and exciting journey across the musical landscape.
Doors open at 6:30
Concert will be followed by a reception hosted by the Embassy of Austria
